Celebrating Our Independence this Fourth of July

Every year, Americans come together to celebrate the birthday of the United States. The Fourth of July allows Americans from every walk of life to celebrate the country we call home. Whether you choose to spend the day at a backyard cookout, take some time off work, or watch one of the many fireworks shows hosted around the country, we hope you enjoy the freedom earned so many years ago.

As you enjoy the festivities, however, we ask that you join us in remembering the deeper significance of the holiday. We also use this day to remember the military history that is a large part of our nation’s heritage.

The year was 1776, and after a heated debate, the Second Continental Congress officially adopted the final wording of the Declaration of Independence on July 4. From this meeting of nearly 60 delegates came the birth of the United States, as the 13 American colonies proclaimed themselves independent sovereign states.

Frontier celebrates our nation’s independence and honors the men and women of the U.S. military teams responsible for making this independence possible. We actively recruit and hire military veterans and active reservists, who make up 13 percent of our workforce, because we know from firsthand experience they make exemplary employees, thanks to our involvement in the 100,000 Jobs Mission, an American business coalition with the common goal of hiring transitioning service members and veterans. We’re very familiar with the kinds of valuable attributes the military instills in those who serve. Their respect, natural leadership qualities, adaptability, their sense of selfless service to others, and their determination prove to be invaluable to our day-to-day operations.

Our efforts are also bolstered by our membership in the Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces, allied with organizations focused on recruiting, hiring, training, assimilating and retaining veterans. We participate in Joining Forcesthe Military Spouse Employment Partnership, Honor and Remember, Patriot Guard Riders, Homes for Heroes, Operation Write Home, and The WorkPlace.

Let’s use this Fourth of July to celebrate not only our nation’s independence, but also the people who have defended our freedom and those who continue to do so. Happy Independence Day!
