Announcing Angela Nguyen as the 2016 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Intern for Frontier Communications

EVERETT, WASH., June 1, 2016 Frontier Communications (NASDAQ: FTR) is pleased to announce and welcome Cascade High School graduate Angela Nguyen as its 2016 Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Intern.

The Frontier Communications STEM internship program was designed as a paid career opportunity for the communities’ bright high school graduates preparing to enter college with a focus in science, technology, engineering or math. This real world experience will give them insight into cutting edge telecommunications technology, an understanding of business economics and analysis, engineering fundamentals for outside plant and much more. As local leaders mentor her, Angela will gain an insight which will hopefully inspire and lead her through her college career and towards a career related to STEM.

Nguyen will be an excellent addition to the Frontier Communications team. She is technologically proficient, bilingual in English and Vietnamese, achieved high school academic honor roll with a 3.95 GPA – while taking many advanced placement courses, participated in varsity sports, and has contributed more than 60 hours of community service throughout her high school career. In addition, she takes the time to tutor others who are struggling with Algebra I, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science, and Mathematics. She was also part of the Robotics Team State Qualifiers for FIRST Tech Challenge in 2015.

“Our community is fortunate to have Frontier as a partner – their investments in education, particularly student experiences such as Angela Nguyen’s internship are so very valuable,” stated Dana Riley Black, M.Ed., Ph.D. Executive Director STEM, Everett Public Schools.

This paid internship provides Nguyen the opportunity to work with Frontier professionals for up to ten weeks to advance her experience for future career aspirations. During her internship this summer, Nguyen will perform duties that support local service networks, delivery, and customer experience. This will allow her to carry her learned experience and knowledge into courses at the University of Washington in fall 2016.

Frontier Communications is proud to provide this opportunity for Ms. Nguyen and is looking forward to working with such a bright individual.
